16th April - Penshurst
Old Surrey, Burstow & West Kent

Next meeting

1st Race - 2.00pm. The SEHC MEMBERS Race for Veteran & Novice Riders - 3m - 12st
Carloswayback Once highly rated under rules but not shown much yet this season.
Conna Cloud Placed on his last couple of runs and should land one of these one day.
Done A Runner Won four this season but looked closest to getting beat last time.
Duke Of Kentford Showed renewed form at Charing but still has a lot to find.
Excitable Island Beaten favourite here, won a hunt race at short odds last time out.
Good Order Has struggled this season and will need a miracle to bounce back.
Hold Em Cowboy Yet to finish better than fourth and pulled up both starts this season.
Knowhentofoldem Only one completion this year and was tailed off.
Kriss William Currently in good order and should be competitive.
Noble Commander Pulled up in all four starts this season.
Noble Legacy Struggles to stay competitive.
Orfeo Conti Fourth last time over an inadequate trip, has good course form but a long time ago.
Sam Whiskey Last ran in July when pulling up over hurdles, struggled in point-to-points previously.
Sebadee Useful Irish pointer, ran well behind Adept Approach here last time, gets a penalty.
See You Jack Run well twice this season and may do better if asked for his effort sooner.
Star Of Massini Ran well last time but doesn’t look as good as he once promised to be.
The Ferbane Man Finished last on only completion this season.
Ukrainian Star Finished well behind on only completion this season.
Witch’s Hat Won well here last time and ran very well at Godstone last time out.

There are plenty of entries for this but the majority can be easily dismissed. Done A Runner is standout entry and he would be hard to beat if his four wins haven’t taken their toll with him. Nigel Padfield’s duo Excitable Island and Star Of Massini are good horses and should have enough class to place, but See You Jack and The Witch’s Hat aren't without chances, while Sebadee can’t be discounted based on his last run but, he does carry a penalty.
1. Done A Runner                2. Excitable Island/Star Of Massini             3. See You Jack

 2nd Race - 2.35pm. The SEHC MEMBERS CONDITIONS Race - 3m - 12st
Broughton Green 15-years-old now and having first run of the season, perhaps best watched.
Carloswayback Once highly rated under rules but not shown much yet this season.
Conna Cloud Placed on his last couple of runs and should land one of these one day.
Curraghbower Won his Intermediate here last time and should go well again.
Dead Or Alive Hasn’t shown good form for a while and probably best discounted.
Excitable Island Beaten favourite here, won a hunt race at short odds last time out.
Frankie Anson Won a Mens Open last season but has looked out of form this year.
Hold Em Cowboy Yet to finish better than fourth and pulled up both starts this season.
Knowhentofoldem Only one completion this year and was tailed off.
Kriss William Currently in good order and should be competitive.
Lucky Prince Pulled up on both starts this season.
Orfeo Conti Fourth last time over an inadequate trip, has good course form but a long time ago.
Ravethebrave Won twice last year but making a belated first start of this season.
Star Of Massini Ran well last time but perhaps doesn’t look as good as he once promised to be.
The Ferbane Man Finished last on only completion this season.
The Vicar Chased home Witch’s Hat at here last time but wants better ground.
Thenford Ryde Pulled up on both starts this season.
Ukrainian Star Finished well behind on only completion this season.
Volcan Surprise Has run well in defeat this season and needs a slight drop in class.

Over half of these are all entered in the previous race so predicting what runs where is difficult. There is no standout entry but Ravethebrave and Volcan Surprise are both Open level and they should find this a bit easier than what they’ve been used to, and although the former is returning from a long time off he has won 11 of his 21 point-to-point starts. The best of the rest include Curraghblower and the Padfield pair Excitable Island and Star Of Massini
1. Volcan Surprise         2. Ravethebrave             3. Curraghblower

3rd Race - 3.10pm. The LADIES OPEN Race - 3m - 11st

Bavard Court Claimed the scalp of Berties Dream last time and seems to be in top form.
Carloswayback Once highly rated under rules but not shown much yet this season.
Conkies Lad Disappointed at Higham but back at the course he won at last time.
Daidaidai Has progressed rapidly from maiden level this season but this is a big leap.
Dead Or Alive Hasn’t shown good form for a while and probably best discounted.
Little Legend Placed on both starts but finished behind Conkies Lad and Bavard Court on his last two runs.
Major Decision Pulled up on only start this season.
Pierlow Welsh trained. Won three for Henry De Bromhead but wasn’t rated highly.
Top Smart Won well at Higham in February but may be dependent on faster ground.
Volcan Surprise Has run well in defeat this season but well beaten by Conkies Lad at Charing.
Witch’s Hat Won well here last time but this is another level.

This looks an interesting contest with no horse having an obvious advantage. Conkies Lad perhaps wasn’t suited to fast ground and a frenetic pace at Higham last time, plus he made some almost race ending mistakes, so he can be forgiven for that run. Bavard Court was well behind him here last time but he is now in better form and a rematch will be interesting. Little Legend split those two last time and finished behind Bavard Court since, so at the moment he can’t be fancied to turn the form around with both but his decent course form should help him. Top Smart is an interesting entry as he has a lot of ability but is fragile, the ground may be too soft for him, though. Daidaidai has only won over 2m4f and this will be a real test should he turn up for it.
1. Conkies Lad      2. Little Legend      3. Bavard Court

4th Race - 3.45pm. The MENS OPEN Race - 3m - 12st
Adept Approach Won well here last time and this looks even easier.
Daidaidai Won all three this season but all at 2m4f and this is a big ask.
Desertmore Valley Looks to need quick ground and he is unlikely to get it here.
Frankie Anson Won a Mens Open last season but has looked out of form this year.
The Ferbane Man Finished last on only completion this season.

This looks a penalty kick for Adept Approach as Daidaidai will have to be a very good horse to trouble him. Third place looks between Desertmore Valley and Frankie Anson, with preference to the former who has better form this season.
1. Adept Approach       2. Daidaidai         3. Desertmore Valley

5th Race - 4.20pm. The RESTRICTED Race - 3m - 12st
Did You Ever Ran well here last time but the race wasn’t the most competitive.
Floreat Finally won his maiden but well beaten in a restricted.
Franks A Million New rules allow him into restricteds but he still looks unlikely to be competitive.
In The Gate Won his maiden this season but pulled up on other three starts.
Jacks Lastchance Tailed off and refused on return from lay off.
Jenna Pride Placed this season but weakened rapidly at Charing last time when favourite.
Lickety Split Dead heated here last time and could go well again.
Rua Nua Ran well for a long way at Parham last time and perhaps needs better ground.
Scorpion Star Won well at Charing but needs quick ground.
Sky Watch Well rated under rules and should find this easy based on that form.
Whatwillwedonext Failed to complete in six starts now this season.
Woodfleet Beat subsequent winner in his maiden win but pulled up favourite last time.
Young QC Won his maiden after many attempts when sole finisher at Hereford last time.

This has the makings to be a good race that should inform as to how good some of these may be in the future. Sky Watch was a good hurdler but he’s from a yard that hasn’t shown much so far so is perhaps best watched. Lickety Split looked very accomplished here last time and should improve for that run, possibly being partnered by his trainer. Scorpion Star and Jenna Pride may find the ground go against them, but should still be capable of placing.
1. Lickety Split          2. Sky Watch            3. Scorpion Star

6th Race - 4.55pm. The OPEN MAIDEN Race - 3m - 12st
Allforthelove Well beaten this season and will need to improve.
Basher Brian Third at Kimble on debut.
Brogeen Boy Second to Scorpion Star last time and should improve for that.
Dccovi Has completed on last two runs but jumping remains an issue.
Forgive Intrusion Pulled up on first run for many seasons.
Ginuwinefizz Well beaten, second last time was in a three runner race.
I Am Sam Looked promising when unseating on debut.
Know More Oats Well beaten so far this season.
Marchedesinconnus Pulled up on debut.
Skiptothegoodbit Yet to complete but has looked promising.
Snuffling Four-year-old, pulled up on debut.
Woodstyle Third to Lickety Split here but pulled up favourite last time.

There are some unexposed horses in here but I Am Sam was just challenging for the lead when unseating at Charing. Skiptothegoodbit has been in contention when blundering at the second last on her last two starts, given a clear round she should show what she is capable of. Basher Brian, Marchedinconnus and Snuffling have all only run once each and should all be better for the experience, but Basher Brian went best of the three by finishing third.
1. I Am Sam          2. Skiptothegoodbit           3. Basher Brian
