23rd April - Parham
Chiddingfold, Leconfield & Cowdray

Next meeting

1st Race - 2.00pm. The INTERMEDIATE Race - 3m - 12st
Daidaidai Unbeaten in three points but trying 3-miles for the first time.
Dccovi Maiden with a poor completion record. Jumping is an issue.
De Clare Man Not beaten far at the last meeting here and should go well again.
Excitable Island Talented and given a confidence booster by winning a hunt race last time out.
Gamato Ran well at Charing on first start of the season, best on better ground.
Howryagettinon Pulled up early on comeback from a long layoff at Charing.
Jenna Pride Restricted level. Weakened rapidly at Charing when challenged.
Lady Barfad Capped off last season with two wins but struggled so far this year.
Margot Fontane Unbeaten when completing and this should give an idea of her ability.
Marlpit Oak Ran well at Barbury last time out and has a good form at this course.
Merrydown Vintage Won impressively here last year and is coming into form again.
Only Time’ll Tell Won impressively at Penshurst and a repeat of that should see him go close.
Rise To It Won at Charing but pulled up subsequently.
Running In Heels Has struggled this season and is desperate for fast ground.
Scorpion Star Won maiden impressively at Charing but has yet to be tried at even Restricted level.
Thenford Ryde Winner of eight point-to-points but pulled up on both starts this season.
Tom Barton Won his last two and there should still be more to come.
Twister Magic Front running five-year-old who has won both starts this season.
Velvet Cognac Won his last two but only by a neck last time.

This has the makings of superb race if a lot of these stand their ground. Three horses, Tom Barton, Twister Magic and Velvet Cognac, are aiming for a hat trick after winning their maidens and restricted, while Daidaidai is after a four-timer. Margot Fontane has yet to be beaten while Only Time’ll Tell thrashed a subsequent winner at Penshurst and is the highest rated. De Clare Man stays very well and isn’t without a chance and Excitable Island, Merrydown Vintage, Gamato and Scorpion Star can’t be discounted. This could go to any of four or five horses and picking the winner won’t be easy, but Daidaidai and Only Time’ll tell are likely to run, while Tom Barton is perhaps the best of the three hat trick chasers.
1. Daidaidai                           2. Only Time’ll Tell                     3. Tom Barton

2nd Race - 2.35pm. The LADIES OPEN Race - 3m - 11st
Carloswayback Once highly rated under rules but not shown much yet this season.
Conkies Lad Disappointed at Higham but should do better on slightly slower ground.
Counting House Won at Godstone but has disappointed since.
Crannaghmore Boy Pulled up on both starts this season.
Crazy Eyes Well beaten into second here last time and has disappointed since.
Dead Or Alive Hasn’t shown good form for a while and probably best discounted.
Featherintheattic Yet to complete this season and probably best discounted.
Little Chip Won well at Charing and needs good ground.
Major Decision Pulled up on only start this season.
Playhara Seemed to go sour under rules and was well beaten on both runs this season.
Rey Nacarado Placed this season but a win doesn’t exactly look imminent.
Running In Heels Would be outclassed even if the ground was in her favour.
Seigneur Des Bois Won this for past two seasons and won last time out.
Silver Token Failed to match last season’s efforts and is best discounted.
Ukrainian Star Finished well behind on only completion this season.
Witch’s Hat Showed much improved form on last two runs and should go well.
Wor Rom Good place rated when he completes but needs more to win.
Yukon Delta Needs to improve to figure in the placings.

This could be an interesting race if Conkies Lad and Little Chip both line up. The former has won twice showing a good turn of foot while the latter has a few gears as well. Seigneur Des Bois has very good form here and should not be discounted at all.
 1. Seigneur Des Bois          2. Little Chip              3. Conkies Lad

3rd Race - 3.05pm. The SEHC MEMBERS CONDITIONS Race - 3m - 12st
Broughton Green 15-years-old and yet to run this season. Gets a 10lb penalty in this.
Carnglave Cat Won three last year but struggled since.
Dead Or Alive Hasn’t shown good form for a while and probably best discounted.
Definite Ridge Reliable jumper and thorough stayer who always manages to feature in the placings.
Excitable Island Talented and given a confidence booster by winning a hunt race last time out.
Forrest Blue Restricted horse who would be better at that level.
Kingsfold Flare Won twice last season but yet to race this year.
Latalanta Missed 2013, 2014 and 2015, pulled up on all three runs this year.
Marlpit Oak Ran well at Barbury last time out and has a good form at this course.
Merrydown Vintage Won impressively here last year and is coming into form again.
Minella Theatre Once useful but struggles now and gets a big penalty.
Noble Commander Pulled up on all four starts this season.
Only Time’ll Tell Won impressively at Penshurst and a repeat of that should see him go close.
Orfeo Conti Fourth last time over an inadequate trip, has good course form but a long time ago.
Paddycards Placed on last four runs at Intermediate level and should grab a place again.
Sam Whiskey Hasn’t run since July 2015 when pulling up over hurdles.
Session Or Ression Talented but fragile, second on only run last season.
Son Of Robain 10-year-old maiden who hasn’t run since 2011.
Star Of Massini Ran well last time but disappointed here at the last meeting.
Swallowshide Highly rated under rules and has run well this season.
Ukrainian Star Finished well behind on only completion this season.
Wait No More Well beaten in point-to-points so far.

This is as competitive as the Intermediate although it contains a lot of the same horses, most carrying penalties. Excitable Island probably has a better chance in this despite his penalty while Session Or Ression is an interesting entry and he could go well despite it being his first race of the season. Paddycards is consistent at this level and he should go close, but so may Swallowshide who has placed behind good horses this season and should still be improving.
1. Swallowshide           2. Session Or Ression                3. Excitable Island

4th Race - 3.40pm. The MENS OPEN Race - 3m - 12st
Adept Approach Won well last time and should go close again.
Big Georgie Won four from seven this season already and has a good chance to score again.
Bringinthebranston Ran on well at Godstone but this requires more.
Crazy Eyes Well beaten into second here last time and has disappointed since.
Daidaidai Won all three races this season but this is a step up.
Definite Ridge Reliable jumper and thorough stayer who always manages to feature in the placings.
Duke Of Kentford Showed renewed form at Charing but still has a lot to find.
Featherintheattic Yet to complete this season and probably best discounted.
High Kite Placed on last two runs but well beaten each time.
Many Stars Useful under rules and won only point-to-point.
Martin Cash Struggled so far this season and will be outclassed.
Noble Commander Pulled up on all four starts this season.
Sam Whiskey Hasn’t run since July 2015 when pulling up over hurdles.
Session Or Ression Talented but fragile, second on only run last season.
The Ferbane Man Finished last on only completion this season.
The Vicar Won here two seasons ago but missed last year and has it all to prove again.
Time Is Tickin Improved massively for a tongue-tie and will be an interesting runner.
Yukon Delta Needs to improve to figure in the placings.

This could be a competitive Mens Open if the main contenders take up their entries, with a Phil Hall horse perhaps not going off favourite. Big Georgie has bounced back from a year off in great style this season, progressing from winning a Restricted to winning a Mens Open. Many Stars has only run in one point-to-point for David Maxwell and he won it at Godstone, while Time Is Tickin showed massive improvement last time out and it will be interesting to see if he can repeat or better that performance. But Adept Approach is the most likely runner so he is fancied to win for a 10th time in point-to-points.
1. Adept Approach          2. Many Stars                3. Big Georgie

5th Race - 4.15pm. The Subaru RESTRICTED Race - 3m - 12st
Beneficiarius Pulled up at Godstone last time and needs to improve.
Brice Canyon Won impressively at Godstone and the step up to three miles shouldn’t be a problem.
Did You Ever Placed at Penshurst but this looks a stronger race.
Don’t Budge Me Won at Higham but pulled up in all other runs.
Floreat Finally won his maiden but well beaten in a restricted.
Forrest Blue Won maiden here last year and run with credit on last two starts.
Iskrabob Won nicely at Higham last time and should go well again.
Jacks Lastchance Tailed off and refused on return from lay off.
Jenna Pride Beaten favourite here last time and isn’t finishing off her races.
Justforthebuzz Has had a go at every level without having an impact.
Leafy Arbour Failed to complete in five runs this season.
Letskeepit Simple Has been given a break and has a chance if he’s in good form.
Lickety Split Deadheated at Penshurst and should improve for that.
Macdougal Pulled up here last time but ran well at Badbury Rings subsequently.
Mirs Choice Won her maiden easily but run out and unseated since.
Noble Legacy Struggles to stay with them for more than two miles.
Rescued Glory Won his maiden here and has placed at Restricted level since.
Rua Nua Ran well here last time but pulled up since.
Sava Bridge Has struggled since winning maiden in 2014.
Scorpion Star Won well at Charing and should make the step up with ease.
Seenigora Won at long odds in a competitive Badbury Rings maiden last time.
Tinakellyflyer Well beaten into second by Margot Fontane at Godstone.
Whatwillwedonext Failed to complete in six starts now this season.
Woodfleet Beat subsequent winner in his maiden win but pulled up favourite last time.

A very competitive race with quite a few holding chances. Brice Canyon won well at Godstone and has been given a high rating of 90 for that win. Iskrabob finally sorted his jumping out at Higham to run out a ready winner, while Letskeepit Simple has had plenty of time to recover from his early season exertions. The Pat Wilkins-owned pair, Lickety Split and Scorpion Star both look useful and we may get to find out which is the better of the two. Seenigora beat a good field last time and she needs to prove that it wasn’t a fluke.
1. Brice Canyon                 2. Seenigora                      3. Lickety Split

6th Race - 4.50pm. The OPEN MAIDEN Race - 3m - 12st

Dccovi Has completed on last two runs but jumping remains an issue.
Delineate Well beaten and doesn’t quite look good enough.
Forgive Intrusion Pulled up on first run for many seasons.
Holm Hill Placed on last two starts so isn’t without a chance.
I Am Sam Looked promising when unseating on debut.
Indian Hill Unraced.
Iwouldntliketosay Yet to complete.
Kabanga Bay Ran well on debut, leading to three out before a bad mistake put him out of it.
Knockedoutloaded Pulled up on only run this season.
Lord Aldervale Well beaten when fell at Godstone last time.
Magic Symphony Placed in a big field but beaten favourite last time out.
Marchedesinconnus Pulled up on debut.
Minmore Present Well beaten by Brice Canyon at Godstone.
Old Devereux Missed 2015 and form wasn’t brilliant previously.
Pep Talk Failed to complete this season.
Premier Gold Unraced.
Quick Oats Would have been placed behind Brice Canyon but for unseating at the last.
Sir Reecer Poor completion record.
Sobar Failed to complete since the beginning of the season.
West Lake Placed behind Rescued Glory here last time and should go well again.

I Am Sam looked like she was making a race winning move when unseating at Charing on debut, if she’s learnt from that she has to go close. Minmore Present was going to finish behind Quick Oats at Godstone, so the latter is perhaps the best of those two. Kabanga Bay ran well on debut at Godstone, being outbattled by three more experienced horses, he should go well again. Brogeen Boy didn’t have a hard race when second at Charing and he could feature in the placings.

Parham Review
There were plentiful runners at Parham on Saturday, with seven competitive races, all with thrilling finishes.
The meeting was kicked off with a competitive Intermediate. Four horses jumped the last together, but the patiently ridden Marlpit Oak came away the best. The following Ladies Open saw Conkies Lad go off favourite, but he unseated Izzie Marshall three from home when in the lead, handing the race to the Tabitha Worsley ridden Crazy Eyes, who's form had dropped off recently but was helped by the better ground. The Club Members Conditions race was won by Swallowshide, before The Ferbane Man and Shane Roche caused a shock by holding off odds-on favourite Adept Approach in the Mens Open. The Restricted was split into two divisions, the first going the way of David Phelan's Forrest Blue, who won his maiden at the card twelve months previously. The other division was won by another Parham maiden winner, as Tim Underwood's Rescued Glory got up to beat Letskeepit Simple by a short head. The concluding Open Maiden saw Shane Roche ride a double, as Nick Pearce's five-year-old Minmore Present held off Brogeen Boy.
